VeggyTables Range

The "Classic" VeggyTable is approximately 6" x 4' x 2' x 3' (depth x length x width x height) or (150mm x 1220mm x 620mm x 880mm for those of you who prefer!) to the top edge (about kitchen worktop height).
The table is made of Cedar. With no colour stain the Cedar will weather to a silvery grey colour and because of the natural resistance of Cedar to water damage should last for a good few years. The construction of all tables uses polyurethane glues, reinforced corners and stainless steel fixings, all designed for long life and strength.
We do not use polythene sheets as a liner as we strive to avoid plastics and other non natural materials. In reality in the summer a little watering often is probably the best approach and during the winter the gaps in the base slats allow excess water to escape
As with all VeggyTables, once constructed it is always best to lift and carry them if you need to move them. Avoid dragging them as this may place undue stress on the leg fixings.
All VeggyTables can be customised by using stains and/or lettering. Please see the customise (place link to customise popup) section on this page.
The "Junior" VeggyTable is approximately 6" x 2' x 2' x 18" (depth x length x width x height) or (150mm x 620mm x 620mm x 450mm for those of you who prefer!) to the top edge.

The VeggyTable extension adds 8" or 170mm depth to any VeggyTable. simply place on top of the existing table and screw the retaining slips in place.
We recommend a maximum of 1 extension (which will give ample depth for most crops) as any more may place too much weight on the slats supporting the soil. If you do want to make a taller table please contact us and we can discuss your requirements and produce a VeggyTable with a strengthened base.
The VeggyTable extension can also be customised by using stains and/or lettering. Please see the customise (place link to customise popup) section on this page.
If you have bought a Junior VeggyTable for the budding gardener in the family, as their height increases, the Junior VeggyTable can become awkwardly low. The answer is to buy a set of long legs to replace the short ones. This is especially good if you have customiseed the Junior VeggyTable with a name or date and it has become a treasured possession!
The Long Leg Set can also be customised by using stains. Please see the customise (place link to customise popup) section on this page.
Whilst the natural VeggyTable will fade to a subtle silvery grey, and then need very little maintenance, you may fancy staining your VeggyTable to add a splash of colour in your garden. We have sourced an organic, non toxic range of exterior grade woodstains that are also suitable for childrens toys. We can apply stains before delivery, or you can apply or reapply after delivery. When we apply the stain we spray on two stains and leave for a period of up to 5 days to fully dry, as per the manufacturers instructions. Application can also be made at home by brush.
We offer a small palette of colours, which can be seen on the chart above,
In addition to stains you can also add lettering to further customise your VeggyTable. We use black stain for the lettering, with a maximum no of characters that is dictated by the length of the VeggyTable sides. For the classic the maximum is 18 characters and the maximum for the junior and the extension the maximum is 10. Please make sure you spell your words correctly as we will print what you ask for!
For any vegetable bed there are a number of additional problems or wishes. From protection from pigeons, squirrels, cats and other pests to extending the growing season using glass, something over your plants is a good idea.
We have hunted high and low to find an acceptable solution, some of the light weight tube structures with nets/polythene just did not stand up well. However, we have found a product which we can recommend:
The cloch we have found is a polycarbonate cloche which fits the dimensions of the VeggyTable pretty well, as they are 500 mm long and 270 mm wide, so you can fit 4 on a classic VeggyTable with little soil unprotected. They also come in 2 heights with separate ends to seal them from pests and keep heat in.
Overall a great accessory to the VeggyTable
How much does a VeggyTable cost?
